Deakin College is Deakin University’s preferred pathway provider, with guaranteed pathways into the second year of over 35 bachelor degrees at Deakin University.

The Early Offer Program at Deakin College

An Early Offer gives you the confidence of a guaranteed place at Deakin College, provided you successfully complete your Australian Year 12 (eg. scored or unscored VCE or VCE VM).

How to apply for an Early Offer

Step 1

Explore your course options

Our diplomas are equivalent to the 1st year of your Deakin University degree. Get the best possible start to your degree studies.

Step 2

Submit your Early Offer application

Fill out and submit the Early Offer application form with your contact details and preferred course.

Step 3

Receive an Early Offer

You’ll receive your Early Offer as early as September, with applications closing on 1 December.

If you meet the requirements, you’re guaranteed a place in your course as long as you successfully complete your Year 12.

Step 4

Make sure we’re at the top of your VTAC preference list

To receive a full offer, the relevant Deakin College + Deakin University packaged course must be listed highest in your VTAC preference list.

Step 5

Finish Year 12 and receive your full VTAC offer

VTAC December Round offers go out on 23 December 2026.

Who can apply for an Early Offer?

To be eligible for an Early Offer, you must:

  • be a domestic student currently doing Year 12 (eg. scored or unscored VCE or VCE VM)
  • apply for your Early Offer by 1 December 2026
  • apply via VTAC and list the Deakin College + Deakin University packaged program in your preference list

Early offer pathways to Deakin University

Deakin College provides a direct pathway to Deakin University through a range of diploma programs.

Successfully completing a diploma can give you guaranteed entry into the second year of the related Deakin University bachelor degree, helping you transition to university with confidence.

The Early Offer Program allows you to apply for your Deakin College diploma and Deakin University package during Year 12, and receive an Early Offer before the VTAC offer rounds.

Key dates

  • 3 August 2026 – Deakin College Early Offer applications open
  • 3 August 2026 – VTAC applications open
  • 16 August (Geelong) and 23 August (Melbourne Burwood) 2026 – Deakin Open Day
  • September – December 2026 – Receive your Early Offer
  • 10 December 2026 – ATAR results are released
  • 23 December 2026 – Full offers made via VTAC
  • 22 February 2027 – Start of trimester at Deakin College

To be eligible for an Early Offer, you must:

  • apply for your Early Offer by 1 December 2026
  • apply via VTAC and list the Deakin College program in your preference list

You can apply for any Deakin College diploma + bachelor degree package. Browse our diplomas, including their Deakin University bachelor degree pathways.

Yes, you can submit multiple applications for different courses, but you’ll only receive a full offer for the course that is listed highest in your VTAC preference list.

Step 1: Complete the Early Offer application form following these instructions:

  • Select the diploma you are interested in
  • When providing your email address, please use the same email address that you intend to use in your VTAC application.

Step 2: List the relevant Deakin College + Deakin University package in your VTAC preference list.

Applications are now open.

We accept Early Offer applications until 1 December. Follow the VTAC dates for setting your VTAC preferences.

If your application is successful, you will receive a conditional offer as early as September 2026.

If you successfully complete your scored or unscored VCE or VCE VM, you will be issued a formal offer by VTAC in the December 2026 Offer Round on 23 December 2026.

No worries, just complete the Early Offer application and put your preferred Deakin College course on your VTAC preference list. As long as you successfully complete your scored or unscored VCE or VCE VM, you will receive your full offer in the VTAC December Offer Round.

Successfully completing your VCE means being awarded your Victorian Certificate of Education. This means you have completed the required number of units and met each of the outcomes outlined for any given subject. It applies to all scored and unscored VCE and VCE VM units.
