“Studying at Deakin College was very beneficial for me as an international student since I was transitioning to a new education system. Deakin College taught me the basics and equipped me with the tools to prepare me for my degree. The smaller class size also helped me understand the lessons clearly since there is more academic support from the teacher where it was easy to engage and communicate when I have questions.”

Student Mentors

Learn from your high-achieving peers

Book with a mentor to chat about your studies, life in Australia, seeking extra support or getting involved in the Deakin College community.

Student mentors can support you with:

  • settling into life at college and getting involved
  • success at Deakin College by talking about the expectations of your lecturers and how to manage your time effectively
  • getting organised and forming effective study habits to last throughout your university studies
  • valuable study tips and the tools to help you succeed in your units

What student mentors cannot do:

  • proof-read or edit work for students
  • re-teach the content of classes/tutorials
  • assist students with the content of assignments, as this would be collusion
