Accept your offer

Follow these steps to accept your offer and secure your place at Deakin College.

It starts with a Letter of Offer

If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Offer explaining the course that has been offered, the fees payable, your orientation and course commencement dates. The letter also outlines Deakin College’s Conditions of Enrolment and Refund Policy.

To secure your place at Deakin College, you must complete the steps below, which are also outlined in your Letter of Offer. Tuition fees can be paid via FEE-HELP (if eligible), direct deposit or credit card.

Here are the steps involved in accepting your offer.

Step 1

Understand your Letter of Offer

Your Letter of Offer will outline the following:

  • Deakin College course
  • Commencement date
  • Tuition fee
  • Any conditions of your offer

Examples of conditions of your offer may include providing official or certified copies of academic transcripts, evidence of citizenship or requiring an interview. Prior to or at the time of accepting your offer, you must provide evidence that you have met all conditions. If you do not provide this evidence, you will not be eligible to proceed with your enrolment.

Step 2

Access Studylink Application Portal

If you applied via VTAC, you will be required to generate a new StudyLink password. Please use the email address provided in your application. Set your password here and accept your VTAC offer.

If you applied directly to Deakin College, login to StudyLink and accept your offer.

Step 3

Respond to your offer

  • Click the ‘My Applications’ tab to view your offer Letter of Offer.
  • Under the ‘Submitted Applications’ heading. You will need to select Respond to Offer under the Actions dropdown.
  • Check the course information listed is correct and tick Accept Offer then select ‘I agree to the following terms and conditions’ and enter your full name.
  • Select your payment type: If you are using FEE-HELP, please tick the relevant box. If you are not using FEE-HELP as your payment method, please upload a copy of your payment receipt to the ‘Upload and additional documents’ area. You must also upload evidence of your citizenship.

To finalise, please ensure you select the Accept Offer button in green. 

FEE-Help

Deakin College is a recognised Higher Education Provider, allowing eligible Australian citizens the opportunity to access the FEE-HELP loan scheme. To apply for FEE-HELP, you will need to Complete an electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF). An eCAF invitation will be emailed to your personal email account after you accept your offer. Your enrolment is not confirmed until payment has been made or the eCAF is completed.

Step 4

Complete your Deakin Uni course preference

If you haven’t yet indicated which bachelor degree you’d like to progress to, you must also complete your university course preference information so that we can set you up on the right study plan for your preferred degree pathway.

Step 5

Create your Unique Student Identifier (USI)

What is a USI?

Your USI is a reference number that creates an online record of your training and qualifications attained in Australia. Your USI is for life, which means you only have to create it once.

Step 6

Enrol in your course

Once you have accepted your offer, as the start of the trimester approaches, look out for emails about upcoming enrolment sessions. You can also follow the ‘how to enrol’ steps on our website once enrolment opens.

Deferring your offer

How to defer

If you wish to defer your offer, you can defer your course to a future intake in the application portal by following steps 1-3 above and selecting ‘Defer Offer’ and following the prompts.

Alternatively, you can email our admissions team at dcoll-admissions@deakin.edu.au to request a deferral and indicate your preferred course intake.  Our admissions team will arrange for a new letter of offer to be sent to you as soon as possible.

Decline your offer

How to decline your offer

If you wish to decline your offer you can decline your offer in the application portal by following steps 1-3 above and selecting ‘Decline Offer’ and following the prompts.
