Application process: Australian students

Australian students can apply to Deakin College directly or through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).

Apply direct to Deakin College

You can apply directly to Deakin College if:

You are applying for a Deakin College course that begins in June or October.

OR;

You are applying for a Deakin College course that starts in March and are not currently studying a standard Australian Year 12 curriculum.

OR; 

The VTAC Change of Preference rounds have closed for the March intake.

Apply through VTAC

When to apply through VTAC

For the March intake only, Australian students should apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). Online VTAC applications open in August for students starting in the following year.

You can apply through VTAC if you are:

  • an Australian citizen
  • an Australian permanent resident
  • a New Zealand citizen
  • a temporary resident currently studying an Australian Year 12* or International Baccalaureate in Australia or New Zealand.

We understand that the Change of Preference period can be a stressful time for both students and parents.
