Clubs and Societies

One of the best ways to meet people and feel part of the Deakin community is to join a club or society. Try new things, develop your interests and make new friends. From sport and wellbeing to religious, international and course-specific groups, there are more than 120 clubs and societies across our campuses and membership is available to all Deakin College students.

Culture Vultures

There is so much cultural diversity at Deakin and more than anywhere this is reflected in the many number of cultural clubs we have. Whether you’d like to explore different cultures or contribute knowledge about your own, these clubs offer a great way to meet like-minded people with similar interests.

Fitness and Wellbeing

Whether you’re a sporting regular or would like to try something new, there’s a Deakin sports club ready and waiting for you. Sports clubs include the Deakin Burwood Basketball Association, the Deakin University Football Netball Club (Sharks) and Deakin Snow Riders.

Expand Your Knowledge

If you’re passionate about an industry or subject you are studying or even if you just want to boost your knowledge in that area, there are many academic clubs to join at Deakin. Some of these include the Deakin Nursing Society (DNS), Engineers Without Borders, and Feminism and Equality Network Deakin (FEND).

Share Your Faith

Deakin students represent a melting pot of different faiths and beliefs. If you want to connect to people of your own faith, or to share your faith with others, one of our religious societies might be a great place to connect.

Keep It Social

If you just want to meet new people, have fun and get active on campus then Deakin social clubs can be a great way to get involved, whatever your interests. Our social clubs include D-argh! Games and Anime, the Deakin Geelong Queer Collective and the Deakin Horror Club (DHC).
